The 2016 Volkswagen Passat | Larry H. Miller Volkswagen Avondale

In case you haven't heard, Volkswagen has unveiled the redesigned 2016 Passat. To say that we're excited for the upcoming vehicle is an understatement. 

The Exterior
The exterior of the 2016 Volkswagen Passat features updates to the hood, grille, front fenders and front and rear bumpers. There are also LED taillights and headlights available. There will also be an R-Line version of the vehicle available with additional sportier options.

The Interior
The 2016 Volkswagen Passat also features an updated interior. It boasts Volkswagen's MIB II infotainment system, available heated rear seats, a new steering wheel and a chrome and piano black trim.

The Engine 
There will be multiple engine options available in the 2016 Volkswagen Passat such as a 1.8-liter TSI gasoline engine and the VR6 engine.

Car Seat Safety Tips

Ensuring that your child is buckled up correctly in the right type of car seat is vital to their safety. Below are a few of the most important things to know according to SafeKids.org:

• Make sure your child is in the right car seat for their age. There is a label on the seat that specifies the proper age, weight and height for the seat. 
• Make sure the car seat isn't expired. This is also listed on the label, and if it's expired, throw it out.
• Keep your child in a rear facing car seat as long as possible. SafeKids.org recommends doing this until they are around two-years-old. 
• After your child is buckled, make sure the harness is coming up from the correct slots. Also pinch the strap at your child's shoulder to make sure there is no excess webbing.

Volkswagen's Newest Infotainment System

Volkswagen has just announced their all-new modular infotainment platform (MIB II), and it’s one of the most dynamic infotainment technologies available. It’ll be available in virtually every trim, and we’ll start seeing it in upcoming 2016 models.

More basic Volkswagen models will feature a Composition Color touchscreen 5.0-inch color display with SD card slots, Bluetooth, a USB multimedia interface with iPhone/iPod compatibility and a reverse camera display.

There will also be an upgraded Composition Media unit available on select trims. This will boast a larger touch display, App-Connect smartphone integration, the ability to send texts via Bluetooth, SiriusXM Radio and more.

In higher trim levels, the system will include the Discover Media unit. This includes the features available in lower trims, but will also boast 2.5D Navigation and will predict possible destinations based off of your most commonly travelled routes.
