Volkswagen has just announced their all-new modular
infotainment platform (MIB II), and it’s one of the most dynamic infotainment
technologies available. It’ll be available in virtually every trim, and we’ll
start seeing it in upcoming 2016 models.
More basic Volkswagen models will feature a Composition
Color touchscreen 5.0-inch color display with SD card slots, Bluetooth, a USB
multimedia interface with iPhone/iPod compatibility and a reverse camera
display.
There will also be an upgraded Composition Media unit
available on select trims. This will boast a larger touch display, App-Connect
smartphone integration, the ability to send texts via Bluetooth, SiriusXM Radio
and more.
In higher trim levels, the system will include the Discover
Media unit. This includes the features available in lower trims, but will also
boast 2.5D Navigation and will predict possible destinations based off of your
most commonly travelled routes.
