Car Seat Safety Tips

Ensuring that your child is buckled up correctly in the right type of car seat is vital to their safety. Below are a few of the most important things to know according to SafeKids.org:

  • Make sure your child is in the right car seat for their age. There is a label on the seat that specifies the proper age, weight and height for the seat.
  • Make sure the car seat isn't expired. This is also listed on the label, and if it's expired, throw it out.
  • Keep your child in a rear facing car seat as long as possible. SafeKids.org recommends doing this until they are around two-years-old.
  • After your child is buckled, make sure the harness is coming up from the correct slots. Also pinch the strap at your child's shoulder to make sure there is no excess webbing.

In an effort to raise awareness and ensure that your children are safe, Larry H. Miller Dealerships throughout Arizona will be hosting Car Seat Safety Checks throughout September. Click the link below to view the schedule and find a location and day that works for you!
